Designing successful electrical infrastructure requires a thorough understanding of complex safety standards. Lindsay Dynan has developed an impressive energy project portfolio and client base that spans renewable and dispatchable power sources, multiple authorities, geographical locations and delivery models and the design of more than 50 electrical substations and depots.
Our engineering consultants will work with you to add value through innovative and adaptable solutions. Whether directly engaged by authorities, or working alongside a specialised D&C team, we have a proven record of understanding energy-specific standards and constraints and utilising this knowledge to the benefit of the project team.

Project
Belmore Park Substation
Location
Sydney, NSW
Client
Ausgrid
Our involvement
The substation is located on a landmark site and is a prominent addition to the Sydney skyline as viewed from Central Station. The substation building consists of three substantial basement levels and six stories above ground, and has also been designed to be incorporated into a 15 storey A-grade commercial tower located beside and above the substation. The estimated civil and structural cost for the substation is $44.5m and $80m for the commercial building.
The design of the building needed to take account of numerous site constraints including the nearby underground rail tunnels and an array of other underground services and tunnels. Lindsay Dynan worked closely with Energy2U Alliance in the buildability assessment resulting in the development of numerous innovations including a precast wall system for the basement walls, which reduced construction time by six weeks.
