The Task and Our Role
The Boardwalk is the social hub of the Honeysuckle Precinct redevelopment on Newcastle foreshore.  It is home to a strip of restaurants and bars that overlook the scenic harbour as well as commercial suites and residential apartments with dazzling waterfront views.

The Boardwalk comprises three commercial and residential buildings offering dining, residential and over 3000m2 of office space.  The underground carpark sits below the water table adjacent to the Harbour, and extends under the three buildings.  The Boardwalk is the most recognisable feature in the redevelopment of Newcastle Harbour and CBD.

The landmark project boasts a facade featuring expressed steel structure.  The basement retaining system is another design feature of the project which demonstrates design for economy and construction speed.  A precast concrete wall system inside the temporary shoring system forms a permanent, load bearing retaining wall.  Early and close consultation with the client and architect, combined with attention to detail, has contributed to the success of this project.
