Sponsoring an Indigenous Summer School Student

Thanks to the support of engineering consultants Lindsay Dynan, an aspiring young engineer was able to attend Engineering Australia’s Honeywell Engineering Summer School (HESS) in NSW in December 2011.

HESS is a week long live-in program aimed at year 11 students in NSW and the ACT.  Students visit five engineering universities as well as construction sites and are given the chance to speak with engineers at a careers expo.  Directors and staff at Lindsay Dynan were able to raise over $5500 in personal donations.  The money was used to sponsor an indigenous student, enabling them to attend the week long event.

Attending the presentation in front of NSW Government House were Directors, Merv Lindsay and Kevin Dynan with their respective partners, Associate & Central Coast Office Manager, Simon Gerrish and Draftsman, John Fraser and his wife Naomi.

This involvement is continuing with the proceeds of a recent 'silent auction' held by Lindsay Dynan staff being donated to the Indigenous Summer School fund for 2012.
