BE(Civil) • MIEAust • CPEng • NPER

Scott Watson is a civil and structural engineer who has been with Lindsay Dynan for over a decade.  During this time he has developed a talent for bringing practical solutions to structural engineering problems and coordinating resources effectively to ensure tight schedule demands are met.

Scott specialises in the design of mining, materials handling, industrial, commercial and multistorey structures.  His portfolio includes a substantial range of projects throughout Australia, the UK, Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.

Scott is passionate about staff development, and sees his role as a mentor to junior staff as an important part of his position and the future growth of the company.  Just a few of his most significant projects to date are:

  • Mangoola Coal Handling Preparation Plant, Muswellbrook NSW
    • A large project with tight timeframes and complex logistics. An unconventional building method, with separately built modules later assembled on site into their final position on site to form a single structure.
  • Ravensworth North stacker
    • The lead consultant role, tight timeframes, technical challenges and a new direction for the company. An unconventional structure commanded an unorthodox approach.
  • Wambo Coal Handling & Preparation Plant and Associated Facilities Upgrade
    • An award winning project
  • Stockton Mine Coal Preparation Plant, Stockton New Zealand

Scott is able to incorporate experience gathered living and working overseas, as an engineer for Waterman Partnership, to achieve efficient design delivery models.  He particularly enjoys seeing his designs develop from the concept phase through to construction as well as interaction with the diverse range of people involved throughout the many phases of project delivery.
